Description

Vintage Japanese silk haori in a gentle cream yellow, featuring understated woven roundel motifs that subtly emerge as the fabric catches the light.

A small embroidered kamon family crest at the upper back adds a refined traditional detail, while the pale silk and quiet woven design give the piece an elegant, understated character.

Originally designed to be worn over kimono, a haori can also be styled easily with contemporary clothing such as dresses, knitwear, shirts, or denim.

Haori are traditionally worn open at the front, allowing a flexible fit.

Condition

Good vintage condition overall.
The outer fabric shows very subtle signs of age and a few faint spots.
The lining has some yellowing and light mottled staining; please see the photos for details.
Traditional white basting stitches called shitsuke ito remain in some areas. These temporary stitches were used to help preserve the garment’s shape during storage and can be gently removed before wearing.
