These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the AKIZAKURA website, inquiries regarding vintage kimono, haori, and related items, links to our Etsy shop, and private kimono experience services offered in Paris.

By using this website, contacting AKIZAKURA, making an inquiry, or booking a service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Purpose of This Website

This website provides information about AKIZAKURA and its activities, including:

  • Vintage kimono, haori, and related Japanese textile items
  • Upcycled items made from kimono fabrics
  • Private kimono experiences in Paris
  • Press, interview, collaboration, and other inquiries

Product sales are mainly conducted through Etsy, an external platform. Unless payment is made directly through this website, purchases made on Etsy are subject to Etsy’s own terms, conditions, and policies.

3. Products

Many of the kimono, haori, accessories, and upcycled items introduced by AKIZAKURA are vintage, pre-owned, or one-of-a-kind pieces.

As such, they may include:

  • Age-related changes in color
  • Small stains, marks, rubbing, or loose threads
  • Fold lines from storage
  • Minor changes in fabric or lining
  • Individual differences due to handcrafting or the use of reused materials

These characteristics are part of the nature of vintage items and are not considered defects, except in the case of major undisclosed damage.

We make every effort to describe and photograph the condition of each item as accurately as possible. If you have any questions, please contact us before purchasing.

4. Purchases Through Etsy

When you visit our Etsy shop through this website and make a purchase on Etsy, the order, payment, delivery, returns, and reviews are handled through Etsy.

Purchases made on Etsy are subject to AKIZAKURA’s shop policies as displayed on Etsy, as well as Etsy’s own terms of use, payment terms, and return policies.

The product price, shipping fees, delivery areas, and return conditions shown on each Etsy listing take priority.

5. Prices

Prices for products or services are displayed on the relevant product page, Etsy listing, or individual quotation.

Unless otherwise stated, prices do not include shipping fees, customs duties, import taxes, or additional service charges.

Depending on your country of residence or delivery destination, customs duties, import VAT, or clearance fees may apply. Unless otherwise stated, these costs are the responsibility of the customer.

6. Shipping

Products are shipped using the method indicated on Etsy or in the individual communication with the customer.

Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance only. Delivery may be delayed due to postal services, customs procedures, weather, public holidays, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control.

AKIZAKURA will provide reasonable support in case of delivery issues, but cannot be held responsible for delays, loss, damage, or customs-related issues caused by postal services, carriers, or customs authorities.

7. Returns and Cancellations for Products

For online sales, consumers may have a right of withdrawal under applicable law.

However, returns or exchanges may not be accepted in the following cases:

  • Items that have been used, stained, damaged, or affected by odors after delivery
  • Missing tags, accessories, or original packaging
  • Items customized, altered, or adjusted at the customer’s request
  • Items that cannot be returned for hygiene or product-specific reasons
  • Items that are marked as non-returnable under the relevant Etsy listing or shop policy

If you wish to return an item, please contact us as soon as possible after receiving it.

Return shipping costs may be the responsibility of the customer, unless AKIZAKURA is legally required to cover them.

8. Kimono Experience Services

AKIZAKURA may offer private kimono experiences in Paris.

Depending on the selected plan, the service may include:

  • Kimono or Japanese-style dressing
  • A short introduction to kimono culture
  • Styling for photo moments
  • Indoor or outdoor photo time

The kimono experience is not a medical service, a certified professional training course, or a guarantee of formal bridal, stage, or commercial dressing services.

9. Booking and Payment for Kimono Experiences

Bookings for kimono experiences may be made through the contact form, email, WhatsApp, or any other method specified by AKIZAKURA.

A booking is confirmed only after AKIZAKURA has sent a confirmation message.

Payment methods, payment deadlines, and any deposit requirements will be communicated individually at the time of booking.

If payment is not received by the specified deadline, the booking may not be confirmed or may be cancelled.

10. Cancellation or Changes to Kimono Experience Bookings

If you wish to cancel or change your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

The cancellation conditions communicated at the time of booking will apply.

As a general guideline:

  • More than 7 days before the booking date: changes or cancellations may be accepted free of charge.
  • Between 7 days and 24 hours before the start time: changes or cancellations may be accepted, but a cancellation fee may apply depending on the booking conditions.
  • Within 24 hours of the scheduled start time: no refund will be provided.
  • No-show: no refund will be provided.

In case of bad weather, transport disruption, illness, or other unavoidable circumstances, we may discuss possible rescheduling where reasonably possible. 11. Late Arrival

If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible.

If the customer’s late arrival results in a shorter experience time, no refund or discount may be provided.

In the case of significant delay, the booking may be treated as a same-day cancellation.

12. Care of Kimono and Accessories

Kimono, accessories, and related items used during the experience are owned or managed by AKIZAKURA or its collaborators.

If significant stains, damage, or loss occur due to the customer’s intentional act or serious negligence, the customer may be asked to cover cleaning, repair, or replacement costs.

Please take particular care with food, drinks, cosmetics, perfume, rain, mud, ink, and other substances that may damage the items.

13. Photography

Depending on the selected plan, kimono experiences may include photo time.

The number of photos, whether editing is included, the delivery method, and the permitted use of photographs will depend on the specific plan or individual agreement.

Customers may post photos they take on social media, but must respect the privacy and rights of other customers, third parties, venues, shops, and passersby.

AKIZAKURA will obtain the customer’s prior consent before using any customer photos on its website, social media, promotional materials, or other public platforms.

14. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate contact information
  • Arriving on time for the booking
  • Handling kimono and accessories with care
  • Respecting the rules of the location or venue
  • Acting safely during outdoor photo sessions
  • Informing AKIZAKURA in advance of any health, mobility, or other concerns that may affect the experience

15. Limitation of Liability

AKIZAKURA provides its services with reasonable care and professionalism.

However, AKIZAKURA cannot be held responsible for:

  • Changes or cancellations caused by weather, transport disruption, strikes, natural disasters, illness, public health restrictions, or administrative measures
  • The customer’s late arrival, lack of communication, illness, or non-attendance
  • Issues involving third parties during outdoor photo sessions
  • Loss or damage to the customer’s personal belongings
  • Malfunctions or issues related to external platforms such as Etsy, WhatsApp, Instagram, or other third-party services

16. Intellectual Property

All text, photographs, logos, designs, brand names, product descriptions, and other content published on this website belong to AKIZAKURA or the relevant rights holders.

Any reproduction, copying, modification, distribution, or commercial use without prior permission is prohibited.

17. External Links

This website may contain links to external platforms, including Etsy, Instagram, WhatsApp, or other third-party websites.

The content, services, privacy practices, and transaction conditions of external websites are governed by their own terms and policies.

AKIZAKURA cannot be held responsible for issues arising from the use of external websites or platforms.

In the event of a dispute, the parties will first seek to resolve the matter amicably.

If no amicable solution can be found, the dispute may be submitted to the competent courts or consumer dispute resolution procedures in accordance with applicable law.
